The 2025-26 FAFSA form will be available on or before Dec. 1, 2024​

March 1

• All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship—State-funded scholarship for students who meet specific criteria. (https://iowacollegeaid.gov/AllIowaOpportunityScholarship)

• Governor Terry E. Branstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship—Students who actively participated in the Iowa State Fair. Up to 10 awards state-wide annually. (https://iowacollegeaid.gov/IowaStateFairScholarship)

July 1 The FAFSA form must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Central time (CT) on June 30, 2026. Any corrections or updates must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 13, 2026. 

• FAFSA filing deadline for State of Iowa Grants and Scholarships
  (https://iowacollegeaid.gov/ScholarshipsAndGrants)

  • Iowa Tuition Grant—Enrollment at one of Iowa’s eligible private colleges & universities

  • Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship—Enrolled at one of Iowa’s community colleges or accredited private colleges that offer qualified programs of study and agree to provide specified student services.

  • Kibbie Grant (Iowa Skilled Workforce Shortage Tuition Grant)—Enrolled in a specific career or technical program at Iowa community colleges.

  • Iowa National Guard Service Scholarship—Iowa National Guard members who attend eligible Iowa colleges and universities.

  • Future Ready Iowa Grant—Students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree and meet specific criteria.

  • Karen Misjak GEAR UP Iowa Scholarship—Students who are part of the GEAR UP Iowa state-wide cohort.

  • Iowa Vocational-Technical Tuition Grant—Students enrolled in career or technical programs at Iowa community colleges.

  • Education and Training Voucher (ETV)—Students who have aged out of foster care or who were adopted after age 16
