GAP Tuition Assistance

This program provides needs-based tuition assistance for approved short-term continuing education training programs for in-demand occupations.

Since non-credit programs are not eligible for federal financial aid, this program is designed to bridge the funding gap for individuals that meet program and income guidelines to complete short-term training programs.
WE Build Waterloo

The WE Build Waterloo Building Trades Pre-Apprenticeship program is designed to create interest in a variety of construction trades and career paths into these occupations.

Participants will be introduced to thirteen different construction trades, learn introductory skills, have access to employers, and will set themselves on a course for family sustaining wages and benefits.

The course is certified by the National Center for Construction Education and Research

(NCCER) which is a national recognized provider of construction trades curriculum, assessments, and safety conscious programming.

Participants will also engage in a 12-week housing rehabilitation cohort to develop on the job skills and experience.
Ignite: Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing

Hawkeye Community College is launching a new program called IGNITE: Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing, a foundational skill development program designed to stimulate student interest in Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 careers.

Students will learn about manufacturing careers and apply what they have learned through hands on competency based projects.

Pathways to Academic Careers and Employment (PACE) provides customized support services to enable eligible students to acquire effective academic and employment training to secure gainful, quality, in-state employment.

Students enrolled in programs within healthcare, information technology, and manufacturing may be eligible for financial assistance and career navigation support.
Employment Network: Ticket to Work Program

Hawkeye is an authorized Employment Network of the Social Security Administration that provides Ticket to Work Program services.

Ticket to Work is a free and voluntary program that is available to persons aged 18 to 64 who have a disability and receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Ticket to Work FAQ.
Pathways to Education and Employment for Reentry (PEER)

Provides education and career services to individuals with a criminal record involved with the 1st Judicial District.
WIOA Title One

Provides support with career counseling and access to training and work experience programs to help people of all ages increase their employability. Possible supports available include financial assistance with tuition, books, transportation, and day care, as well as training opportunities such as on the job trainings and apprenticeships.
